I've just come back from a 17-day guided tour trip in western europe with my dad and i can see that some day this will be our ultimate reunion. the tour bus holds about 40 people and travels to so many interesting places in europe (we covered 8 countries in this trip). imagine 40 of us CVA'71 (10 to 15 families) travel together to visit buckingham palace in London, or the eiffel tower in Paris, or the vatican in rome (if you are a Catholic, you ought to see the magnificence of the vatican at least once in your lifetime)... we cruise the canals of amsterdam (Holland) or venice (Italy), or the rhine river (Germany) or the seine (France) etc. we are on the top of the mountain in beautiful switzerland and we are in the fastest train (300 km/hr) eurostar from london to Bruxelles. we see the mona lisa (La Joconde) in the louvre musuem and we see the grand palace in Austria. and we are always together through all these fantastic experiences. every night, after dinner and settling in our hotel, we can get together in one of our room or the hotel bar and chat and chat and chat... and on the road again the next morning. at the end of the trip, our families have the best vacation and our guys have the best reunion. that is the beauty of this trip. i have talked with the guide and get enough information to organize a trip for our group whenever we are ready (3, 5, 10 years from now?). we are looking at around $2,000 per person for a 14-day trip. let me know what you think of this. back to reality, next year we are still working on a reunion in southern california and i will let you know about the progress either through emails or through notices on our website in Houston. bye now. your friend Ha. |
